ColourPop Eyeshadow, Highlighter, & Lippie Stix: Review + Swatches

After seeing ColourPop all over youtube & various blogs, I decided to finally order some of their products for myself. Their products are decently priced, but it adds up quickly, trust me! I wish I could have recorded my reaction to swatching these for the first time, the consistency and texture of the eyeshadows/highlighters are just so different & creamy…yet powdery? I literally said “oh my GOD” out loud the first time I swatched an eyeshadow.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows: $5.00 Each

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow – Tassel (Metallic), Girly (Pearlized), Fringe (Metallic)

My favorite out of the 3 is definitely Tassel, its the most beautiful inner corner/lid color ever! I also love Girly as a brow highlight and base color, its a little less shimmery, as you can see.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow – Liberty (Ultra-Metallic), I Heart This (Metallic), Get Lucky (Metallic)

If you like a subtle shimmer without the BAM in your face eyeshadow look, I Heart This is for you! It gives off just the perfect nude shimmer look. I’ve also been loving Get Lucky & Liberty to add that pop of color to the center of the lids!

Don’t get me wrong, these highlights are great & I do think they are worth the $8. But, in retrospect I probably should have splurged else where since I already have tons of highlighters. I don’t see these ever replacing my Mac Soft and Gentle or Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. I will use them, just probably not super often. If you are looking for a cheaper, good quality highlighter, I definitely recommend checking these out!

ColourPop Highlighters: $8.00 Each

ColourPop Highliter – Stole The Show (Pearlized), Lunch Money (Pearlized), Highly Waited (Pearlized)

Stole The Show definitely stole the show for me! It’s my favorite out of the 3 with Lunch Money following closely behind. I feel like Highly Waisted is just not the right color for my skin tone, it would be really beautiful on someone who was a little darker or tan.

Yes, the famous ColourPop Lippie Stix. These were the first products I had heard of from ColourPop & I’ve been wanting to try them out for so long. I’m not really a bright lipstick kind of girl, i’m usually always wearing a nude lipstick or a pale pink. I wanted to try and step outside my comfort zone a little bit with these. But as you can see, most of them are still pretty nude or muted.

ColourPop Lippie Stix: $5.00 Each

ColourPop Lippie Stix – Cookie (Matte), Skimpy (Glossy), Bound (Glossy), BFF (Glossy), Easy (Glossy), Cupid (Hyper-Glossy)

My Favorites out of group are Skimpy, Cupid, and Easy. But I also really do like BFF and Bound. I find that Cookie is very dark looking on my pale skin. So again, if you had a darker complexion it would be fantastic for you. Often I mix Skimpy & Cupid/Easy together to get a pretty nude peachy/pink lip. I love love love the formula and pigmentation of these lippies!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow & Blush Review & Swatches

shadows2

Back in November, I purchased 14 Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, 2 blushes, and a large Z Palette to put them in. It ended up being a pretty big purchase, $130. After hearing so many people rave about these shadows and seeing them in almost every single one of Jaclyn Hill’s Youtube videos, I decided to finally get some myself. I really had no idea of what I wanted, I looked at every single color and looked up swatches and favorites from other bloggers/youtubers. I’m really happy with the ones I picked out, and I have marked a few of my favorites for you all below. My “favorites” have a heart above the swatch, most of them I use every single day. I do love all of the colors though, just some are better for everyday wear. For some reason, I didn’t take a picture of the blushes in this palette before I started using it, but there is a swatch of them at the bottom!

Eyeshadow Pans: $5.99 each
Blush Pans: $9.99 each
Large, Black Z Palette: $20.00

firstIce Queen: Love this shade for inner corner and under the brow highlight!
Peach Smoothie: One of my all time favorites! I use this almost everyday as a transition and blending color.
Glamorous: Beautiful bronzy-shimmer color for the lid!
Cocoa Bear: Another all time fav, I personally use it in the outer edges of the eye. It’s the perfect warm-tone brown.

secondMocha: Usually use this color in my crease, and to create the “outer v” shape on smokey eyes.
Vanilla Bean: Gorgeous off-white color, looks beautiful on the inner half of the lid and under the brow.
Beaches & Cream: LOVE THIS SHADE. It’s few shades lighter than Peach Smoothie, I use this one too as a transition/all over lid color.
Creme Brulee: Another perfect warm brown color. It’s not as dark as Cocoa Bear, but very similar.

ThirdLatte: Yet another warm toned brown. Although these all seem similar, they each give a very different look when applied onto the eye.
Barcelona Beach: This one isn’t as warm in tone, and it looks really good when going for a darker eye look.
Shimma Shimma: FAVORITE inner corner highlight. It’s just so beautiful and shimmery, I LOVE it.
Cinderella: Very similar to Shimma Shimma, just tinted pink. It’s very beautiful and girly.

fourthCosmopolitan: I’ve gotten SO many compliments on this eyeshadow. I use my Mac Fix+ to wet it after I have some on a brush, and just pack it onto my lid. It looks beautiful in combination with Coca Bear!
Mercury: Although I don’t personally use this shade much, it is a really pretty space grey/silver color. I have been trying to stay away from super dark colors and black…since that is all I used to wear in high school!
Spell Bound (Blush): I fell in love with this blush the first time I used it. Its the most perfect shade for me and looks really good with the shadows I marked as favorites.
First Love (Blush): When I ordered this, I expected it to look different when actually wearing it. Personally, I don’t think this blush can be worn alone. Sometimes I mix it with a little bit of Spell Bound, or use it as a soft highlight right above Spell Bound, but never alone. It’s just way too pale in my opinion.

I’m so glad I finally ended up purchasing these. Although it can start to add up in price, in the long run you will save money because you are just buying shades that you want. I know I have tons of palettes that have 8+ colors in them and I only use 2-4. Now I can pick exactly what colors I want and when I hit pan, I can just order another one for $5.99! Can’t beat that!

Outer Lid & Crease: Creme Brulee & Cocoa Bear

Ipsy Glam Bag Subscription Review: January 2015

IMG_0189

Another month, another IPSY glam bag! I know its been awhile, I got really caught up in the holiday season but I’m back now and I can’t wait to get back into the blogging world. I received my January 2014 2015 Ipsy bag in the mail just a few days ago. If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy, feel free to check them out by clicking HERE. It’s a month subscription service that costs $10, and you receive 4-6 beauty products each month. I absolutely love ipsy and have been subscribed for two years now!

» Elizabeth Mott – All Over Shadow Brush
PINK! I was super excited to get this because you can never have enough brushes, AND it was pink. It’s super soft and dense, I will probably be using it for blending more than anything.

IMG_0193

» (MALIN+GOETZ) – Mojito Lip Balm
Excited to try this out! It has a very simple and basic formula, hopefully it won’t be as drying as other lip balms, which is ironic.

IMG_0194

» Nourish Organic – Renewing Eye Cream
I already love this brand. I’ve purchased their full size face cleanser and face lotion because of ipsy. I will definitely be using this!

IMG_0196

» Pacifica – Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow
Gorgeous color, honestly was not expecting it to be so pigmented. I’m just very guilty of never using all the single shadow pots I have…palettes are just so much more convenient.

» BelláPierre – Shimmer Powder
Ugh, yes. I was hoping to get this beautiful white shade over the other two that were being given out. This is going to look amazing as an inner corner highlight. Also, superrrrr pigmented!

IMG_0192

» Benefit – Posie Balm
BONUS ITEM! I finally stumbled upon this before it was sold out! I had over one thousand extra ipsy points that I just kept forgetting to spend. This little baby costed me 500, but better than just letting them expire, right? I was kinda disappointed because what you see here…is literally all of it. I was expecting at least a little more product. But I understand it is a sample size and it is a higher end brand. Either way, its still really cute and very moisturizing!

Thanks for reading & see you next month!

Ready To Wear Cosmetics: Review

I recently discovered a new brand on Hautelook, Ready To Wear Cosmetics. I love Hautelook because it gives me the opportunity to try new brands for literally half the price! I purchased a blush/highlight palette and a foundation, which I will be reviewing for you here.

rtwNY

– Ready To Wear New York, Glam Collection Face Palette:

I’m in LOVEEEEEE with this little blush palette. It includes a matte pinkish apricot blush on the left, a shimmery peach blush on the right, and a beautiful shimmery gold highlighter in the middle.

Take a look at these swatches to really see how gorgeous the colors are:

swatchesNY

I’m especially loving the matte apricot blush for the fall time. I feel like its perfect for this season, just as the shimmery peach one is for summer. I could rave about the highlighter all day, it’s just so pretty when applied. You can even use these shades for eyeshadow, they are very versatile, especially the highlight color.

– Ready To Wear New York, Aqua Crème Hi-Definition Hydrating Foundation Light:

At first, I was a little freaked out by the consistency and feeling of this product. It’s 25% water, so it is REALLY hydrating as the name states. Your face will look like a wet sticky mess, but let it dry for about 5 minutes and apply a setting powder and you will look flawless. A setting powder is a MUSTTT for this product. Don’t even bother with a setting spray, powder powder powder all the way. If you don’t powder it enough you will find it smearing and moving with the littlest touch. That being said, when you get used to it, you will love it. I tend to have dry skin on my nose, and some foundations make it look flakey and cakey. But not this one, it hydrates the area and makes my face look so smooth and flawless.

If you’re ever browsing Hautelook and see Ready To Wear, I really recommend at least taking a look! Hautelook is awesome to try out new products, since they are so heavily discounted. They post new deals every single day. Just remember, they only last a few days and sell out quickly for some brands/products!

Urban Decay – Naked On The Run: Swatches & Review

naked

Ahhhh, I LOVE Urban Decay! I own every Naked palette and will probably continue to own them in the future, they are by far my most favorite eyeshadows. I pre-ordered my Naked On The Run palette from Sephora.com the day it was released. It costs $54 and includes 6 eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, lipgloss, eyeliner, and mascara. I think its an awesome palette and it’s so convenient to have it all confined to one simple case!

I know I don’t have the best quality pictures, but for what it is, the color payoff is great. I’m happy they included matte shades to balance out the shimmery ones. These colors will create an amazing smokey eye, I’m beyond excited to start using it often!

– 0.4 oz Eye Shadows
Dive (metallic rose/gold micro-shimmer)
Fix (soft taupe matte)
Resist (medium metallic taupe)
Dare (medium brown matte)
Stun (metallic bronze/light gold micro-shimmer)

swatches

– 0.3 oz Bronzer
Medium bronze matte

– 0.3 oz Blush
Vibrant pink/light shimmer

– 0.07 oz All-over Eye Shadow
5050 (cool bisque satin)

swatch2

lipgloss– 0.13 oz Full-Size Naked Ultra Nourishing Gloss Lip Gloss
Sesso (rose/pink shimmer)

eyeliner– 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
Stag (deep brown satin)

mascara– 0.13 oz Perversion Mascara
Blackest Black

Overall, so far I am completely happy with this palette. At first, I thought the bronzer was going to be very light and have an orange tint to it, but when I actually tried it on it was just perfect. I love love love the blush in the palette too. The 5050 shadow is being mistaken by some people for a highlight, but it is indeed an eyeshadow. It can be used as a highlight tough, I suppose! I was super excited to get another Perversion Mascara. I previously had gotten a sample size from Ipsy and instantly fell in love with it. I’m also really stoked to try out the new Stag eyeliner. It will complement these shadows so well. Definitely worth the money for me!!

Moda VoxBox: October/November 2014

IMG_6345

I was BEYOND excited when I received an email saying I was eligible for the Moda VoxBox. I had also received the previous Vitality VoxBox, but it definitely wasn’t as awesome as this one! If you’re interested in getting a VoxBox check out Influenster.com, it’s totally free and you basically just post reviews about products. I didn’t have to pay ANYTHING and all the reviews you give are your own honest opinions. I’m so happy I received this box because it had many things that I actually will use in it. Thanks Influenster!

IMG_6353

• Clairol, Hair Food: $14.99

I had never heard of this product before, it’s apparently new. I wasn’t too sure how to use it either, the bottle said to use on damp hair, comb, and wash out. I decided to use it in the shower and now I use it twice a week instead of my conditioner. It makes my hair feel sooooo soft, I love it! I will for sure be using the coupon I received to purchase other products in this line.

IMG_6387

• Swiss Miss, Simply Cocoa: $2.29 per box

Now that we have entered the winter months, this was a nice treat to get in my VoxBox. I’m sure I will end up using it, because the Keurig hot chocolates just aren’t cutting it for me.

IMG_6367

• Rimmel London, ScandalEyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara- #003 Extreme Black: $5.99

I was SO EXCITED to see beauty items in this box! I’m a makeup fanatic and I’ve been waiting for a VoxBox that included makeup. Honestly though, I was a bit disappointed with this mascara. I thought it would be amazing but in reality, the brush was just too large and couldn’t coat my lashes properly. I felt as if barely any product was getting on them.

IMG_6365

• Rimmel London, Moisture Renew Lipstick- #360 As You Want Victoria: $6.99

At first the color turned me off of this lipstick. I don’t think reds or dark colors look good on me. I usually am always wearing a nude, pink, or peach colored lipstick. But when I tried this color on for the first time I didn’t think it looked that bad on me. I did end up giving it my mom though, since she likes colors like this and needed a lipstick anyways. The formula was awesome, and I wouldn’t be against looking at other colors from this line of lipstick!

IMG_6380

• Rimmel London, Moisture Renew Lip Liner- Universal Transparent Lip Liner: $5.99

At first I thought this was a white eyeliner and I was ecstatic. I don’t really use lipliners too much, but I was willing to give this one a try. I would describe it as more of a lip primer, I guess. It made my lipstick last longer and helped it not bleed out from my lips. I don’t see myself using it everyday, but on occasions i definitely will!

IMG_6373

• Resource, Natural Spring Water: $1.49

I’ve never heard of this brand before, and it just tasted like normal water! Not too much to say about it…

IMG_6382

• Jergens, Ultra Healing Lotion: $5.99

I love little baby travel size bottles of stuff! Not kidding, I’ve been asked about 3 times if I have lotion in my purse from people in my classes in the past month. Well, now I do! My hands get dry in the winter, so the timing was perfect on this one.

IMG_6355

• Puffs, Soft Pack Tissues: $2.49

Everyone needs travel tissues! I ended up putting one of the packages in my car, since I always need a tissue and never have one. These are just the basic tissues, not ones infused with lotion or anything like that. But they are still soft!

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out Influenster for a chance to get a VoxBox in the future!
